Arno Rafael Minkkinen

A global workshop teacher and lecturer, Minkkinen is Emeritus Professor at UMass Lowell and docent at Aalto University School of Art, Design, and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland. He studied with Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind at Rhode Island School of Design (MFA, 1974). Widely published and exhibited around the world with works in major collections, Minkkinen was honored with the Lucie Award for Achievement in Fine Art (2013), a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship (2015), the Pro Finlandia medal from the Finnish Government (2017), and the Society for Photographic Education’s Honored Educator award (2019). His latest book, Minkkinen | Two Hundred Seasons (Kehrer Verlag, 2019) won the German Photo Book Prize for best monograph of the year.
