Denis Brihat

Denis Brihat began taking photographs at 15 and though he enjoyed a successful career as a commercial photographer, he wanted something more. In 1958, Denis settled permanently in Provence at the edge of Bonnieux amid rustic conditions –he had neither running water or electricity–to concentrate on his personal research creating poetic images in nature and simple things in the form of “photographic pictures”. Photographer Pierre-Jean Amar writes, “His eminently poetic style of photography glorified them and paid them due tribute, inviting people to open their eyes and recognize the proximity of grace.” He graciously shares his unique works from reportage to specialized toning and “grinotage” while entertaining visitors through walks in his garden.
