George Tice
Over the course of a long career, Tice has produced over 20 books, and earned many awards. From his New Jersey series: Paterson was the subject of a one-man show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1972. His book Paterson won the Grand Prix du Festival d’Arles in 1973; in the same year he won a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and Guggenheim Fellowship. While not himself a high school graduate, during his service in the U.S. Navy in 1958, he received his High School Equivalent Certificate. In 2003, he received an Honorary Doctorate from William Paterson University. In 2015, he won the Lucie Award for Lifetime Achievement.
